Kataifi Nests with Mascarpone Cream
A light and crispy dessert where kataifi is shaped into nest-like cups, baked, then filled with strawberry-infused mascarpone cream.
Ingredients:
Kataifi Nests:
- 225g kataifi dough
- 115g melted butter
Syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Cream Filling:
- 225g mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 6–8 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup freeze-dried strawberry powder
Garnishing:
- 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Toss kataifi with melted butter and press into greased muffin tin cups.
- Bake for 8–15 minutes until crispy and golden. Let cool.
- Prepare the syrup by boiling sugar, water, honey, and lemon juice. Let cool.
- Pour cooled syrup over kataifi nests and allow them to absorb.
- Whip mascarpone with heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla, and strawberry powder until thick. Fill kataifi nests and garnish with pistachios.
